… None of the condemned things are to be found in your hands. Deut 13
Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing …” 2 Cor 6 ⦿ Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 1 Pet 2 ⦿ … Hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh. Jude 1
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. 1 Jn 3 ⦿ For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Titus 2

Hi everyone!
It’s Philip here.
The new version of Daily Light is one month old today. It feels older than that to me because I’ve been doing it every day.
I tend to prepare two readings immediately before the evening reading goes out. I’m doing it from scratch because, as far as I’m aware, there is no existing version of DL in the NIV 2011 (Int) version of the Bible.
But I’m not complaining, because I’m loving doing it, even though it takes up to three hours each day. Please pray for my endurance!
The privilege of preparing it means I have no excuse for the message not sinking in fully. What’s not to like!?
Anyway, the Substack platform is a very practical benefit for me in terms of easier dissemination to all of you. In one step Substack makes it available in three ways - by email, website and app.
I’m also planning to revive a general social media push (Instagram, X/Twitter, and possibly Facebook) just so that people know it exists! Let me know your thoughts … and please keep sharing it yourselves. 😁
Reading Daily Light is generally a fairly private thing, although my wife and I read it in bed together. However, I wanted to suggest that any of us can express our views about any DL reading in this “comments” section, and engage with other likeminded DL readers from around the world - 27 countries at the last count! I almost think of it as a virtual church because I have the privilege of hearing from quite a few of you.
Finally, I’m gradually getting the hang of doing the audio. And today is the first day with my new posh microphone. I hope you can hear an improvement. I’d welcome your comments on how I’m doing with that - so long as you’re gentle with me. 🤣
Love in Him,
Philip
